Call and Response: Day 26: Après Midi

Après Midi

drinking wine after fish
fresh caught and painted
or the woman clad
in her thin chemise
watch and earring caught in porcelain
above the bathwater now cooled

we have come through
pain so much
and time since we saw
these same swirls and daubs of
paint but we
will always have
Paris

Call and Response: Day 26: Ordinary Day

I am coming your direction
branch of pinon pressed
in the mailbox here arrives there,
transformed to luxuriant eucalyptus
like a one dollar postcard of the masters
and captivating sculpture in the back yard
of the brilliant ordinary day

Call and Response: Day 25: Poetry Saxophone

She wore a blue
tattoo right hand
while her left
knew
turquoise

rings and
gold
loops on her
wrist bones

taut as the slick
soar from her
poetry

saxophone

Call and Response: Day 24: In the Wind

Oh to put my head in the wind
nose to what's ahead
My possessions tied securely
with a masking tape cross

Call and Response: Day 23: Trying

From the weft we wiggle
perpetual green finds its way

free every heat year
each new day of trying

forgiveness stalks
