Pilgrimage: 7th Day: Café

we drink caffé latte
and share a poppy seed bagel
our conversation drowned by the voices
of others
we smile and I suggest
that we stand and shout
"shut the fuck up"
but all we do is chuckle
at the possibility of
turning on the light
